The WFN Award Committee is pleased to announce this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Mentoring Award: Dr. Marcia Ory from the School of Public Health. Special thanks to Award Committee organizers Chanam Lee, Colleen Petrik, Denise Woodward, and Naomi Nagaya.

Marcia G. Ory, PhD, MPH, is a regents and distinguished professor in the Department Environmental and Occupational Health at the Texas A&M School of Public Health. She also serves as Founding Director of the University-wide Texas A&M Board of Regents Center for Population Health and Aging.  She is best known for her research and practice on the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based programs for older adults.  She is a prolific author and has received many local, state and, national awards. She has been a life-long mentor to many others, set up numerous  scholarship funds  for  students, and is especially gratified to see prior mentees excel in their fields.
